Not all jobs require resumes.

Many entry level jobs only require only application forms to be filled out.

The smart employer will not let you take away the application form for filling out. They want to be sure it was you who actually filled it out. This practice gives you a significant advantage.

Most people have sloppy writing and printing skills. Odds are you are one of them. Just as a resumemust be neat, so must the application form. Travel with a clipboard,
pencils, and an eraser. Using a pencil, fill out the application form very neatly. It will stand out amongst all the rest.

It is not a race. Take your time filling out the form neatly. If you mess it up ask for another. Neatness counts.

Ask the receptionist for a stapler and attach an appropriate resumeto the application form. Have pre-made Resumes that cover a range of job opportunities. For example have one for factory work, for restaurants and fast food, for clerical work. Each must emphasis your skill in each of these areas. For example, when applying for a factory job do not mention your great sales ability. Emphasize such things as your strength, height, and age.

When making personal visits searching for a job they may want to talk to you. Have all the information with you: SIN number, list of references, list of previous employment, phone numbers etc. In Canada you cannot be paid by a company without their having your SIN number. Presumably the USA has a similar requirement. If you do not have a SIN (Social Insurance Number) apply for it now.

Attaching it to the application is one more demonstration of your well above average skills.

Do not forget to add all your good qualities you have that it is illegal for them to ask.

Living close to the job is critical. Make a point of how easy it is to get to the job. Always say shift work is no problem.
