Job Searching on the Web.

Job Sites are in the process of upgrading their feature making it very easy to locate jobs in your geographical area. The latest feature is entering your postal code and a Google map displays the locations of jobs near you.

Job Loft.com

A site focused exclusively on full time, part time, and seasonal jobs in the retail, food services, and hospitality sectors.

Eluta.ca

A site that searches 73,000(and growing) Canadian companies web sites for job postings and updates itself about every six hours.

These sites sound good so I went off to find some more. Well, did I get a surprise. Apparently there are over 35,000 job searching web sites, not simple web hits on Google but 35,000 individual sites and the number is growing fast. Trying to find the site that has your jobs to investigate seems to be an almost impossible search. So I did what I normally do, used Google’s Advanced Search feature.

On Google’s main page, just right of the input field, is the link to Advanced Search feature.

I obtained amazing results. I wanted to find a part time job, in Toronto, where speaking French was required. Lots of jobs were listed. Put in your own requirement and experiment. I put in different search criteria with
similar results.

Here is how how I filled out the form:
